Who we are

Built by people who understand

Thrive Hills Care was founded by professionals with careers spanning mental health, children's social care, and the public sector. We have sat with children in crisis, supported staff under pressure, and navigated the systems that shape young lives. We built this organisation because we know exactly what is missing — and we are committed to providing it.

"Every child who comes through our door deserves to leave a healthier, more confident, more capable person than when they arrived."

Our homes are not facilities. They are communities. Every decision — from the therapeutic model to the evening meal — is made with one question in mind: does this help this child thrive?

Sector expertise at our foundation
Our founders bring decades of frontline experience in mental health services, children's social care, and residential childcare — so we build homes that actually work for the people in them.
Committed to Outstanding from day one
We do not aim for Good and hope for Outstanding. We build Outstanding into the structure, culture, staffing, and therapeutic model of every home before the first child arrives.
Community rooted and community focused
We locate our homes in communities that need them, work with local schools and services, and ensure every child has genuine roots in the place they live — not just a placement.
Our approach

Six pillars of exceptional care

01
Trauma-informed practice
PACE model, attachment theory, and developmental trauma frameworks are not optional extras — they are the foundation of how every member of staff understands and responds to every child, every day.
02
Mental health at the centre
Funded in-house or contracted therapist for every home. Individual therapy, group work, and emotional regulation support built into the weekly timetable — not added as an afterthought when crisis hits.
03
Life skills and independence
Cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and household management are taught with care and consistency. Children leave our homes knowing how to look after themselves — a skill the care system too often fails to give them.
04
Financial literacy
Weekly financial literacy sessions covering budgeting, saving, banking, and entrepreneurship. Linked to each child's personal allowance so learning is practical, not theoretical. One of the most powerful tools for lasting independence.
05
Extra-curricular and identity
Every child chooses their sport, art form, or creative pursuit — and we fund it. Identity, confidence, and belonging are built through doing. We celebrate every achievement and make it matter.
06
Entrepreneurship and ambition
Children in our homes are supported to start micro-enterprises, develop skills, and build ambition. We do not lower expectations because a child has been in care. We raise them — and provide every tool needed to meet them.
For the children in our care

Everything a child needs to become a well-rounded adult

At Thrive Hills we fund what most homes cannot. Every child in our care has access to a full programme designed to support every dimension of their development — mental, physical, social, financial, and creative.

🧠
Mental health support
Funded therapist, individual and group sessions, emotional regulation tools, and CAMHS liaison built into every placement from day one.
💷
Financial literacy
Weekly sessions on budgeting, saving, banking, and building wealth. Linked to a personal allowance each child manages with growing independence.
🍳
Cooking and life skills
Each child has a dedicated cooking night — they choose the meal, shop to a budget, and cook for the household. Cleaning, laundry, and home management taught with the same care.
💪
Sport and physical health
Gym membership, martial arts, swimming, football, athletics — each child chooses their sport. Physical health and regulation are taken as seriously as academic achievement.
👗
Clothing and personal allowance
Every child has a personal clothing budget. Their style, their choices, their dignity. Identity and self-expression are not luxuries — they are therapeutic necessities.
🚀
Entrepreneurship programme
Children identify a skill or interest, develop a micro-business idea, and receive mentoring to earn real money. Digital skills, branding, and business basics are all included.
🤝
Relationship therapy
Restorative justice, conflict resolution, and healthy relationships are taught formally. Children leave our homes knowing how to build and maintain meaningful relationships.
🎨
Creative and extra-curricular
Art, music, drama, photography — creative expression is funded and encouraged. Every child builds a personal portfolio of achievements they take with them when they leave.
For our staff

People who feel valued deliver Outstanding care

We do not believe you can build an Outstanding home on the back of overworked, undervalued staff. Thrive Hills invests in the people who do the work — because the quality of care a child receives is a direct reflection of how the adults around them feel.

Genuine career progression
A clear pathway from Support Worker to Senior, Deputy, Registered Manager, and beyond — with funded qualifications at every stage and a commitment to promoting from within.
Funded CPD and training
£2,000 CPD budget per year for every manager. Level 3 and Level 5 qualifications funded. PACE training, trauma-informed practice, and specialist courses all supported.
Sector-leading salary and bonuses
Salaries set above regional averages. Ofsted rating bonuses and placement achievement bonuses that reward the outcomes you deliver — not just the hours you work.
Clinical supervision and wellbeing
Regular clinical supervision for all staff working with complex trauma. We take the emotional cost of this work seriously and provide structured support — not just an EAP nobody uses.
Autonomy and genuine ownership
Registered Managers at Thrive Hills have real autonomy. They build their team, shape their therapeutic model, and run their home. We invest and support — we do not micromanage.
"We built this organisation because we knew that the way to get Outstanding outcomes for children was to create an Outstanding environment for the people who care for them."
